With rebrowned twist barrels signed in full in script on the finely patterned rib, short case-hardened recessed patent breeches (some minor surface pitting) engraved with a tiger's mask at the centre and each with two platinum lines and platinum-lined touch-hole, shaped tang engraved with scrollwork and coiled sea-monsters on a hatched ground, signed case-hardened serial numbered locks engraved with further scrollwork and coiled sea-monsters, blued steel-springs each with roller, engraved pierced cocks, and rainproof pans with each mouth tilted back towards the cock, the underside of each pan-cover with semi-circular groove, finely figured walnut half-stock (minor bruises), chequered grip, butt with high comb, iron mounts finely engraved with scrollwork, foliage, and coiled sea-monsters, the trigger-guard retaining some of its original blued finish, case-hardened trigger-plate with stylised pineapple finial, silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and brass-mounted ramrod: in lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories including Sykes leather-covered powder-flask and Sykes shot-flask, the lid with trade card of the earliest type (for 1816-1826), the exterior (minor damage) with flush-fitting carrying handle made in one with an octagonal plate, London proof marks, the barrels forged by Charles Lancaster 30 in. (76.2 cm.) barrels
