A Vernis Martin, tortoisehell and gold-mounted snuff box, a gold, diamond and sapphire purse and a shagreen, silver-mounted necessaire with polychrome enamel plaques Possibly France, late 18th Century, first half 19th Century and second half 18th Century The first of circular form, with reeded mounts, the box depicting Leda and the swan amongst angels; and a half-moon-shaped foliate pierced gold purse mount, set with a graduating line of old mine-cut diamonds alternated by oval-cut sapphires with entwined gold purse and ball finials; the shagreen necessaire of tapering form, the enamel plaques depicting figures in a landscape in foliate silver-mounted cartouches surmounted by a bow, containing: a pair of tweezers, a pair of scissors, a spoon, a tooth pick, a pencil holder, a knife, an ivory writing pad and a cut-glass perfume bottle with stopper 8.5cm. (3.1/2in.) diameter and 5.2cm. (2.1/4in.) wide and 9.5cm. (3.7/8 in.) high apparently unmarked 32 gr. gold (3)
