A Turkish sash (uÏkur), the ends embroidered in silk and metal thread, with motifs to include carnations, roses, serrated eglantine leaves, budded branch, 23.5cm x 187cm (Emed-24); a cotton sash, with two motifs at each end in drawn threadwork, depicting cypress trees(?), in green, mauve, orange, 29cm x 197cm, (EMed-7). Bought Athens market 1977; a cloth with twisted tassel edging and tamboured triple floral motif, 75cm x 44cm including tassels, (Emed-10). Bought somewhere in Turkey 1983; a pair of knitted white cotton socks with white stitching, æ14Æ knitted in holes at the top, and with small marks in red cross stitch æc.f. numbers and marking on plain sewing samplers, for numbering of domestic linenÆ,(Emed-40). Bought Kayseri bazaar 1983, and an antique crocheted white woollen shawl, bought by Sheila to keep warm on night buses (very old, another passenger told me), one amuletic blue bead in centre back fringe, (Emed-81) Bought Turkey 1983 (No original inventory number as not an embroidery)
