As it was Read in the House of Commons and Attested under the hand of Phelps, Clerk to that Infamous Court Author: Nalson, John Place: London Publisher: Printed by H.C. for Thomas Dring Date: 1684 Description: [8], LXX, [2], 128, [6], [1 catalogue] pages. Illustrated with three full-page engraved plates. (Folio) 31x19 cm (12¼x7½") bound in later calf tooled in blind, raised spine bands with gilt-decorated compartments, red morocco spine label lettered in gilt; new endpapers, marbled edges. The trial of Charles I was one of the most momentous events ever to have taken place in Westminster Hall. Kings have been deposed and murdered, but never before had one been tried and condemned to death while still King. Lot Amendments Condition: Scuffing to leather, rubbing to extremities; mild toning and occasional light foxing to margins; very good. Item number: 348837
