A SWISS ENAMEL AND GOLD SNUFF-BOX by Moulinié, Bautte & Co. (fl. 1808-1821), struck with the mark used 1808-1815, Geneva under French occupation, circa 1809-1814, with the Geneva town mark, the excise and third standard marks for gold, French Departments 1809-1819, the flange struck with inventory no. 2274, later struck with two Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty marks for gold, the enamel plaque Swiss, circa 1815/1820 Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover later fitted with a rectangular enamel plaque depicting a milkmaid with her cart and dog in front of Lake Geneva with the Môle and the Mont-Blanc in the background, the base inscribed ' Geneve ', the sides and base with rectangular panels of a pattern of engine-turned small discs, the sablé gold borders on cover and base stamped with trailing foliage and flowerheads, the petals and leaves enamelled in blue, the sides and corners similarly enamelled 3¼ in. (82 mm.) wide
