A South German pewter dish, so-called 'Famaschüssel', after a model by Albrecht Preissensin Possibly 17th century the centre lightly convex and cast with the etched allegorical figure of Fama, the wide border with gods from antiquity flanked by numerous parrots and peacocks, one above an armorial shield charged with triple cross and the initials AP, the reverse turned, grey varnished patina, the cavetto dented in one place, the rim repaired in one place diameter 28.2cm
