Manufactured 1893 through 1905. Serial number 18783 with blue finish and 10" barrel. Two piece checkered hard rubber extended target grips. Two line Smith & Wesson address on barrel top with "MODEL OF 91" at center of address. Matching serial numbers observed on frame, barrel, latch and right grip in pencil. Paine pattern blade front sight with adjustable rear sight attached to latch. This early 1st Model pattern with recoil shield left intact is a very fine example with no issues or problems. CONDITION: Very fine with over 95% of the factory blue finish remaining. Case colored hammer, trigger, and trigger guard. Bore is excellent. Action operates properly but needs a diligent cleaning as it contains congealed oil and grease and action remains sluggish. The grips are very fine with no cracks or distress. A fine example of a rare Smith & Wesson. TDW CORRECTION: This item is antique.
