A small group of ephemera from the Huguette Clark family estate, includes: Small notebook labeled "Mrs W. A. Clark Silver Book" with about 20 loose pages filled in with inventories of silver service dated 1936 and 1943. Composition book with about a dozen pages filled in, mostly with Spanish grammar lessons, but a few pages of notes on Kabuki theater and some notes on mixing paints. Western Union telegram dated 1938 to Mrs. H Clark a Mrs Sojin commenting on the tying of an obi. Group of small photos, some apparently in France, some with pencil captions, 3 color Polaroids of Japanese dolls. 2 pencil sketches, with drawings on both sides, possibly by Huguette Clark, approx. 4" x 4". 2 black and white photos of the interior of the Clark house at Santa Barbara, stamped "Karl Obert" on back, 9" x 13.5". 7 postcards, some addressed to Huguette, one with a color drawing "Residence of Senator Clark, N. Y. City" postmarked 1913. About 6 cards and letters addressed to Huguette. Booklet from "The Spence School", which Huguette attended in NYC, with sheet showing tuition and other costs. Booklet from the Montecito School for Girls, with a 1952 letter from the headmaster asking Mrs. William A. Clark's representative about securing the Santa Barbara estate for use as a boy's school. Book of French Flower Giftwrap by Artists, with thank you cards, Christmas greetings and drawings from children pasted into the pages, sent to "Madame bienfaitrice" in 1991--Huguette was fond of sending gifts and financial support to schoolchildren, often those with a connection to her family or employees.

Estate of Huguette Clark Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925 Removed from a residence at 920 Fifth Avenue, New York City
