A SET OF TWENTY-TWO GEORGE II SILVER-GILT DESSERT SPOONS MARK OF THOMAS AND WILLIAM CHAWNER, LONDON, 1762 Hanoverian pattern, engraved to front with crest within the Order of the Garter beneath marquess' coronet, the backs engraved with crest within the Garter motto below a marquess' coronet Together with twenty-two George III Old English pattern silver table spoons, the majority by William Eley and William Fearn, London, 1817 and 1818 A George IV table-spoon, 1822 A George V 9 ct. gold dessert spoon, mark of Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co. Ltd, London, 1929, engraved with initial 'S' A George III silver teaspoon, London, 1804 A Victorian silver serving-piece, London, 1898 the spoons marked on reverse , the serving-piece marked on blade and handle the silver, 70 oz. 1 dwt. (2,458 gr.) the gold, 1 oz. 3 dwt. (36 gr.) The crest on the silver-gilt dessert spoons is that of Stewart, probably for Charles, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry K.G. (1778-1854).
