A set of twelve Napoleonic bowls Print Second half 19th century Each signed: CVM in gold paint on a green circle; each further printed in French with the scene depicted Porcelain ground with gilt and cobalt blue rims, reserves with transfer printed scenes from the life of Napoleon I comprising: the coronation of Josephine (after the painting by Jacques-Louis David , the Battle of Austerlitz, the military camp at Austerlitz, the Battle of Jena (after the painting by Horace Vernet , the Battle of Heilsberg, the Battle of Friedland (after the painting by Horace Vernet , the Battle of Wagram (after the painting by Horace Vernet , Napoleon wounded at Ratisbonne (after the painting by Claude Gautherot , the marriage of Napoleon and Arch Duchess Marie Louise of Austria, the Fire of Moscow, the retreat of Moscow, Napoleon's farewell to his "Old Guard" at Fontainbleu (after the painting by Antoine Alphonse Monfort), 12 pieces Each: 1.75" H x 9.75" Dia. est: $800/1,200 *Price Realized: $1,125.00 Condition: Overall good condition with minor rubbed wear to decoration, blue trim, and gold paint commensurate with age. The Fire of Moscow with rubbed wear to the figure on the far left. The retreat of Moscow with rubbed wear to two blue border panels. The farewell at Fontainbleu with rubbed wear to Napoleon's jacket.
