A Royal Crown Derby dark-blue-ground two-handled oviform vase and cover and two Limoges porcelain oval plaques The vase with date cypher for 1897, printed iron-red crowned D marks, iron-red shape number 5228/1048, the later plaques with printed marks The vase with seeded gilt cushion finials and leaf-scroll handles, the cover, neck and foot gilt with bands of flower and leaf pattern, the body enamelled by Désiré Leroy in white with two fledgelings, one with a captured dragon fly, among raised two-colour gilt brambles, signed, the reverse with a butterfly above wild grasses, between raised gilt acanthus and a gilt gadronned band, the spreading foot with seeded ornament (small area of rubbing to the gilding to the flange of the cover), the two Limoges oval plaques with raised gilt scroll and leaf ornament (light rubbing) The vase and cover 8¼ in.
