A RARE SMALL 'NUMBERED' JUNYAO TRIPOD NARCISSUS BOWL YUAN-EARLY MING DYNASTY (14TH-15TH CENTURY) The strongly potted shallow bowl is raised on three crisply carved ruyi feet, decorated below the lipped rim and around the base with drum-nail bosses, the exterior predominantly a brilliant mottled purple with pale blue, the interior of lavender-blue tone, the base incised with the Chinese numeral, Ba , 'Eight', surrounded by regularly spaced spur marks 7 in. (17.7 cm.) diam.
