Unsigned Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) Depicting a wasp with folded wings seated on a large pinecone with a smaller pinecone next to it. The larger pinecone is glazed a beautiful deep blue and the wasp and smaller pinecone are glazed in two different shades of brown. Large, asymmetrical himotoshi underneath. LENGTH 4.7 cm Condition: Excellent condition with only very little expected firing flaws. Provenance: German private collection.
