A RARE GEORGE II CHANNEL ISLANDS SILVER-MOUNTED COWRIE SHELL LADLE, MARK OF GUILLAUME HENRY, GUERNSEY, CIRCA 1730, The Hanoverian pattern stem with pronounced, raised rib to front, extending almost half-way down stem, the back of stem inscribed in script "A*Jean Arnel" above an initial "M" , the cowrie shell bowl with silver rim cut out with stylised acanthus motifs and having a short rat-tail to back of bowl, maker's mark only, 8 1/8 in. long (20.7 cm.).
