A RARE FAHUA RETICULATED MEIPING MING DYNASTY, LATE 15TH / EARLY 16TH CENTURY the pierced body glazed in aubergine, turquoise and ivory reserved against a deep blue ground, depicting a sage standing beside the porch of a pavilion emerging from billowing clouds, the figure looking back to a pine tree and an attendant carrying a qin, all above a band of stylised lotus lappets, the shoulder encircled with four large leafy peony blossoms 27.5cm., 10 7/8 in.
