A Rare Cased Pair Of 32-Bore Patchlock Duelling Pistols By Forsyth & Co., Patent Gun Makers, London, No.s 3503 and 3504, circa 1828 With heavy rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrels (signatures recut), patent breeches each with two platinum lines and platinum plug, engraved tangs, signed engraved locks with safety-catches, the hammers each with detachable striker, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, engraved iron mounts, silver escutcheons, barrel-bolt escutcheons and fore-end caps, and later ramrods (in worn and repaired condition): in original fitted mahogany case lined in dark green velvet, with accessories including Forsyth bullet mould, the lid with trade label of the fourth design (1816-30), and flush-fitting carrying handle, London proof marks 14in.
