Co's Express , ivory grips each mounted at base with silver plates with naively engraved floral motifs, above right side a twisted silver-wire border (lacking on left side), together with an associated brown leather holster as pictured in Texas Collector: Gaines de Graffenried page 80 7½ inch (19 cm.) barrel Brown patina with areas of pitting, good cylinder scene with large area of pitting, holster made for larger revolver According to The Book of Colt Firearms by R. L. Wilson, page 237, the Union Pacific Rail Road purchased a number of Colt Model 1871/72 revolvers. Colt Factory letter canfirms configuration and notes shipment to Spies, Kissam & Company on November 6, 1872.
