A quantity of various snuff boxes Mainly 19th century Comprising; thirteen lacquered and papier-mache boxes, including two with inlaid specimen stone hinged covers and two painted to simulate tortoiseshell; six horn boxes, including one modelled as a flask, two with canted angles, and one with decoration, possibly 18th century; two brass mounted clam shell boxes; eight Scandinavian wood boxes, including one chip-carved and modelled as a shoe, and two birch bark; three Black Forest containers, including a chip carved inkwell modelled as walnut on leaf; a Continental relief carved ivory handle, 18th century, the medallions depicting side profiles, later mounted on a perspex base; a French lacquered box with polychrome transfer print to the cover, in the Chinoiserie style; a nickle mounted wood box and four brass and silvered metal boxes (39)
