Beschreibung:

A patinated and gilt-bronze mounted mahogany library bookcase after the design by Valadier, Modern (see lots 169 & 170) with a triangular pediment above a frieze with ribbon-tied floral swags, the door with a band of gilt-bronze stars and patera surrounding a mirror plate, the lower part with a pair of panelled doors flanked by single doors centerd by ribbon-tied garlands, on a plinth with four inset etchings with later hand-colouring from Loggia di Raphael nel Vaticano, 1772-1777, on wove paper, minor overall defects (unexamined out of frames) Bookcase: 340cm. high, 500cm. wide, 76cm. deep; 12ft. 1½in., 17ft. 5in., 2ft. 5in. The etchings: 64cm x 64cm.; 25¼in. x 25¼in.
