A PAIR OF SEVRES BISCUIT PORCELAIN FIGURES OF CUPID AND PSYCHE ON COBALT-BLUE GROUND STANDS CIRCA 1875, THE BISCUIT WITH IMPRESSED OVAL UPPERCASE MARKS, INCISED ER 75 12 AND OH.76.11, THE STANDS WITH IRON-RED DORE MARKS FOR 1875 AND 1877, GREEN S.73 AND S.75 LOZENGE MARKS, VARIOUS IMPRESSED AND INCISED MARKS, AFTER MODELS BY E.M. FALCONET Each modeled seated on rockwork, Cupid with his quiver of arrows and a rose at his feet, Psyche concealing his bow, each on a cylindrical base and bleu lapis shaped quatrefoil stand inscribed either 'Non! pas plus que tu n'es mon maître, Tu ne le fus ni ne dois l'être.', or 'Qui que tu sois, voici ton maître, Il l'est, le fût, ou le doit être' , raised on four feet 12¾ in.
