A Pair of Japanese vases Kutani style, early to mid 20th Century Decorated in typical Kutani style enamels in iron-red and gilt with various coloured enamels, the body with a continuous band of a festival scene in a garden with a view of the Imperial palace across the moat, above a band of lappets of varying textile designs, the shoulder with similar bands of petalled form, the top rim with bands of karakusa and another of hanabishi, applied with a shishi to either side of the shoulder, signed beneath two crossed Japanese flags Watazuke sei Keiyu byo (?) 13 3/8in.
