A PAIR OF GEORGE IV ORMOLU-MOUNTED EBONY, EBONISED AND PIETRA DURA CABINETS-ON-STANDS The cabinets-on-stand circa 1820-1830 and attributed to Robert Hume the Florentine pietra dura plaques second half 17th Century Each with a rectangular moulded cornice surmounted by a pierced baluster gallery, the front centred by a door inlaid with an exotic bouquet issuing from an urn, enclosing a plain interior, flanked to either side by a pilaster, headed by a panel flanked by a foliate-edged scroll, one inlaid with a leopard, the other with a tigress, flanked to either side by a further door, each with three plaques inlaid with various birds and flower-sprays, enclosing a plain interior, above a gadrooned edge and on gadrooned bun feet, the base with a stiff-leaf border above a plain frieze, supported by square tapering legs with foliate collars, the back with rectangular panels framed by stiff-leaf, above a rectangular platform and on square tapering feet, each with a paper label to the reverse inscribed Brynkinalt 1911 , the middle right plaque of one cabinet replaced 66 in. (168 cm.) high; 43 in. (109 cm.) wide; 13½ in. (34 cm.) deep
