A pair of Berlin two-handled topographical Kratervasen Circa 1820, underglaze blue sceptre marks, the first with orange dot mark, the second with gilt circle and arrow mark Of Krater vase form, each side of the flared upper parts painted with views of Potsdam and Berlin attributed to Johann Hubert Anton Forst , within rectangular matt-gilt cartouches with bright gilt palmettes and named in bright gilt script, the first vase with Ansicht von Berlin. and Ansicht von Potsdam. , the second with Sans_souci bei Potsdam. and Das neue Palais bei Potsdam. , the cartouches divided by gilt ciselé scrolling foliage and palmettes above a moulded gilt flange and concave pale-grey ground band with ciselé gilt ombrierte vitruvian scrolls enclosing flowerheads, the richly gilt lower part with eagle handles, their wings spread across the vase, their claws gripping moulded pendant garlands of oak leaves, the waisted foot with ciselé down-turned stiff-leaves within a ribbon-tied garland of laurel, on a square plinth, the corners with ciselé foliage with interlocking tendrils, the upper rim with a band anthemion palmettes, the interior of the rim with two broad gilt bands enclosing a matt gilt band with ciselé up-turned stiff leaves (each with a minute chip to the underside of the rim, each with a restored area to the top of the foot below the lower part, the first vase with a restored corner to the plinth base, the second vase possibly with a small area of re-touching to the gilding of one eagle's neck) 19 in.
