A NEW MEXICAN POLYCHROME WOOD BULTO representing Nuestra Senora del Rosario (Our Lady of the Rosary), standing erect on a thick painted board, the flattened body with gesturing arms, bent at the elbows, her large hands proffering rosary beads (shown here around the neck), her long face with pronounced forehead, narrow nose and diminuative ears, her eyes with dotted lower lids, wearing a long skirt decorated with zigzag bands, attributed to Juan Ramon Velasquez , (ca. 1875 or later) Height: 22 in. (55.9 cm.)
