The engraving at bottom left which forms part of the title cartouche shows a group of sailors presenting a pair of shoes to a native in exchange for a chest of gold coins. Lot Amendments Condition: Darkened, several cracks and tears, corners replaced with small portions of map image redrawn, some staining; a fair to good example of an uncommon and significant map.
