Large map of North America partially based on a 1718 map of the same region by French cartographer Guillaume Delisle: "Carte de la Louisiane et cours du Mississippi." There are a number of significant differences between the two maps, however, particularly concerning the border between English Carolina and French Louisiana. Moll includes blocks of descriptive text. In the Midwestern regions, he describes the countryside and the Indians who lived there, and on the Florida peninsula, he gives a detailed account of a slave-hunting expedition. He depicts California as an island, although only the southern portion of the island is shown. McLaughlin 197.
