A Meissen two-handled vase second half 19th century finely painted on the front and reverse with panels of Venus and Mars and Bacchus and Ariadne, reserved on a richly gilt blue-grey ground, the neck wtih smaller panels of the Three Fates and the Three Graces, between applied foliate scroll handles, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised G 125 and impressed numeral 20. height 21 in. 53.3 cm
