A MEISSEN TWO-HANDLED BALUSTER POT-POURRI VASE AND PIERCED COVER with a large flower and leaf finial, painted in a soft palette with a scene of three 18th Century figures playing backgammon in a verdant garden, the reverse with a loose bouquet, each within a cartouche of applied flowers and fruit entwining curling foliage handles, the side applied with a cherub in flight and the spreading scroll-moulded base with a garlanded putto beside a basket of flowers (finial re-stuck, chips to applied flowers, leaves and other extremities), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 162, incised B 6, circa 1880 30¼in. (77cm.) high
