Kändler as a gallant standing playing the recorder in a yellow hat, flowered jacket and blue breeches, his companion seated playing a xylophone in a pink hat, yellow bodice and puce-flowered dress, a small boy at the back playing the bagpipes in a pink-patterned jacket and yellow breeches, standing beneath an arch entwined with vine and foliage and a boy behind one pillar playing with a dog, on a scroll-moulded mound base enriched with gilding (end of recorder lacking, minor chips to hat foliage and chips and restoration to foliage), blue crossed swords and dot mark, incised vv= and F, circa 1765 21cm. high
