A MEISSEN BALUSTER HOT-WATER JUG AND COVER with S-scroll handle and short spout, painted in Schwarzlot with merchants, fishermen and travellers beside a ruined tower in an estuary and by a building and a tree overhanging a rocky escarpment within elaborate gilt and black scroll and Böttger lustre panelled quatrefoil cartouches flanked by indianische Blumen between broad gilt line rims, the cover with a continuous river landscape and with gilt ball finial (chip to inside flange of cover, star crack to shoulder to the left of the spout), blue crossed swords mark, gilder's 20. to base and cover, Dreher's x, circa 1730 18.5cm. high
