"Teahouse of the August Moon" opened at the Martin Beck Theater in New York in October 1953, and the first run extended to more than 1,000 performances. The consignor purchased this signed playbill from a woman who attended a performance and noticed Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio seated up front in the theater. She asked them to sign a program, and they did. Signatures are large and very bold. Together with a copy of the front page of the New York Daily News, announcing the marriage. The program is 9 x 6in, matted and framed to 38 x 21in
