A magnificent and rare lacquered-brass dip-circle, signed on the horizontal circle Brunner Paris , the needle carriage with agate suspension, mounted on its axis with an upper and lower arm carrying the twin mirrors and magnifiers, enclosed in a glazed mahogany casing with upper inspection apperture and lock to door, raised on the limb over the 7in. (19cm.) diameter horizontal circle, with finely divided silvered scale and two verniers, with tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the limb with graduated cross-bubble, the vertical support with 5in. (14.5cm.) vertical circle, with similar finely divided scales and twin verniers, tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the axis and bubble level mounting with turn-key fine adjustment, the horizontal circle raised on a pillar support and tripod stand with three adjustable screw feet -- 15in. (39.4cm.) high overall, mounted on an oak base board with screwdrivers, horn-framed magnifier and turn-key, in the original walnut carrying case with iron handle, containing two fitted cases with the original dip needles, one case inscribed in ink haut No. 1, the other Devant No. 2 See Colour Illustration and Detail
