A LOUIS XVI THREE-COLOUR GOLD SNUFF-BOX MAKER'S MARK RUBBED, THE FIRST LETTER AN 'N' OR 'M', PARIS, 1776/1777, WITH THE CHARGE AND DISCHARGE MARKS OF JEAN-BAPTISTE FOUACHE 1774-1780, LATER STRUCK WITH THE DISCHARGE MARK OF JEAN-FRANÇOIS-KALENDRIN 1789-1792 Oval box, the cover, sides and base with panels of peaked engine-turning scattered with pellets within fluted borders, the lid centred with an an oval reserve chased in three-colour gold with a ribboned bouquet of roses, sunflowers and tulips, within scrolling foliate borders on sablé ground, the base with similar border, the sides with rosebud swag border above and laurel border below, the side pilasters chased with three-colour gold trophies of Harvest and Gardening 3 7/16 in. (87 mm.) wide 3½ oz. (100 gr.)
