A Louis XVI Style Gilt and Patinated Bronze Mantel Clock 19th century the case cast to show a seated cherub flanking a circular enameled dial with Roman numeral hours, raised on a rouge marble base. Height overall 22 x width 20 inches. Estimate $3,000-5,000 Height of marble base is 5 1/4 inches. Bronze figure intact with fairly even finish but having some rubbed/brighter areas. No dents or losses. Glass to dial intact, dial with areas of possible touch up. Works appear mostly intact but lacking a pendulum. Both springs accept a wind, clock attempts to strike but hammer is misaligned. With bell and two key. The rouge marble base is mostly intact but with repaired crack to back and scattered minor edge chips. Additional images available upon request.
