A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED CHINESE AUBERGINE PORCELAIN VASE The mounts attributed to Pierre Gouthière and possibly designed by François-Joseph Bélanger the porcelain Kangxi The everted ribbed and fluted lip flanked by two rams' masks, each suspending a set of pan pipes and vine leaves and grapes with twin scrolling foliate and recumbent putto-satyr handles, each with a bunch of grapes on claw feet surmounted by berried scrolling foliate and floral sprays, the porphyry base of chamfered lozenge form with fluted spreading band and bun feet, previously with lid, repaired breaks to ormolu foliate scrolls below satyrs, the porcelain with hairline crack below rim, the porphyry base probably added in the 19th Century 19 1/2 in. (49.5 cm.) high; 10 3/4 in. (27 cm.) wide
