A LOBSTER-TAILED POT (ZISCHÄGGE) with hemispherical fluted one-piece skull with conical fluted finial on a star-shaped washer, the lower part encircled by rivets, riveted pointed fall with staple and screw for the adjustable nasal, the latter with pierced finial of stylised leaf shape, pointed neck-guard of four upward-lapping lames with cusped edges, cheek-pieces of four downward-lapping plates, the top one pierced with a radiating circle of slots, the main edges turned and roped, and dome-headed brass rivets throughout, second quarter of the 17th Century, probably German 11in. high
