Beschreibung:

A late Victorian silver hip flask by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1897, of curved rectangular form with plain polished exterior, hinged cover to corner with push button release, inscribed 'Thornhill & Co. 144 New Bong St W.' and 'Patent 6491', 9.6cm x 7.5cm, weight 4.05ozt Overall condition is poor. There is heavy denting all over the case, the largest being at the base of the flask, measuring 3.2cm x 1.5cm. There is also prominent denting to the corners and the lid. There is a split to the top left hand corner (as pictured). The lid secures tightly and opens when the button is pressed, however it is very stiff - button needs to be pressed down firmly and held for the lid to open. Cork is present to the lid, but is heavily worn. Engravings are clear, hallmarks are slightly worn. This is not currently in usable condition, and would require repair.
