A LATE VICTORIAN MAHOGANY BEDROOM SUITE By Gillows of Lancaster Comprising: a wardrobe, the arched and moulded cornice, fitted with a bevelled mirrored door, flanked on either side by a glazed and panelled cupboard door, carved with acanthus leaves and torches filled with fruit, the sides carved with graduated harebell chains, on turned and tapering supports, 96in. (244cm) wide; a double bed, with arched moulded headboard and foliate-carved cresting, on turned and fluted tapering supports, 62in. (157.5cm) wide; a kidney-shaped dressing table, the moulded indented top, with plate glass preserve, above a kneehole surrounded by a concave frieze drawer and two columns of four bowed drawers, 60in. (1502.5cm) wide; a bowfront chest, fitted with two short above three long graduated drawers, 48in. (122cm) wide; a night cupboard, the rectangular top with ledged back, above a panelled cupboard door, 16½in. (42cm) wide; a towel rail, on moulded splayed feet joined by turned cross stretchers, 27½in. (70cm) wide; and three bedroom chairs, with oval cane filled backs with ribbon-tied crestings, the padded seats on turned tapering supports joined by square stretchers (9)
