A LATE ROMAN OR BYZANTINE GOLD ANIMAL PENDANT CIRCA 4TH-6TH CENTURY A.D. Composed of a crescent-shaped ring decorated with five applied granules on each side, with a ridged suspension loop, below hangs a smaller pendant in the form of a crouching feline animal standing on integral pedestal, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) long max.; a pair of Western Asiatic gold earrings of hollow box form, each side with tear-drop shaped setting inlaid with red glass, decorated with granulation, the underside of each decoration with pyramid-shaped granulated balls, suspension loop above, fitted with modern ear loops, 2 in. (5 cm.) long max.; a pair of Western Asiatic hollow gold hoop earrings of square section, 1st millennium B.C., 1 1/8 in.
