A late 19th / early 20th century diamond tiara of naturalistic form, the white metal mount of swirled foliatie design inset with mixed old-cut diamonds, the largest individually mounted diamond approximately 1.50 carats, with two smaller collet-set diamonds of approximately 1.0 carats each, the leaves inset with graduated mixed-cut diamonds (part of mount and a separate collet-set diamond detached from mount), silver gilt to interior, approximate diameter 10 cm, approximate height 4.8 cm, 30.5 grams. From a private collection, by descent. CONDITION REPORT Likely of Russian or Continental European origin; diamonds of overall good colour and clarity. Diamond in top of surmount leaf, approx 5 mm diameter. Largest diamond, approximately J/K colour, approximately SI2 clarity, approximately 7 mm diameter. Part of tiara mount broken over time; still with the tiara, piece inset with approximately fifty one diamonds, plus extra loose collet-set diamond from other side of mount. Loose diamond, and largest in detached mount, around 0.50-60 carats each.
