A late 17th-century Royal portrait ring, the plain gold ring mounted with an oval miniature portrait of King William and Queen Mary, glazed with rock crystal faceted at the border, size I ½ (with sizing bar), with case marked for J. Hancock, 45 Piccadilly, Manchester Provenance: To be sold with a copy of a catalogue for an exhibition Parliament and the Glorious Revolution: 1688-1988, held at the Banqueting House, Whitehall, July-October 1988. The ring was exhibit no. 18 and described as Gold finger ring, the bezel containing a miniature of William and Mary under faceted crystal, said to have been presented to Jean Stuart Campbell, Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Mary.
