A Japanese Wakizashi, the blade, 18th-19th century, of koshi-zori, shinogi tsukuri form with chu kissaki, carved on one side with a vajra-handled ken and a sanscrit character, the reverse with a horimono of a flowering prunus tree, the hada is tight itame, the hamon is irregular suguha of both nie and nioi, nakago bears a single mekugi-ana and is mumei, length 55.5cms, in shirasaya, The Mounts comprise an aogai flecked roiro Saya inlaid with silver florettes and a Kojiri en suite, a shakudo nanako Tsuba of tachi-form decorated in gold takazogan with a rain-dragon and clouds, unsigned, shakudo nanako Fuchi-Kashira with shishi in gold takazogan, signed Masakatsu, with shinchu shiiremono kozuka, silk brocade bag, 77cm overall length Condition report disclaimer
