A HÖCHST TABLE-CENTREPIECE EMBLEMATIC OF THE SEASONS CIRCA 1765, THE FIGURES PROBABLY LATER, PUCE WHEEL MARK TO STAND, IRON-RED WHEEL MARKS TO FIGURES, INCISED I L TO WINTER The two-handled scroll-moulded centrepiece stand painted with four landscape scenes within rocaille cartouches, the central stem supporting a pierced closed basket moulded with rocaille cartouches painted, perhaps by Andreas Philipp Oettner , with elegant figures in landscapes below a shell-moulded rim supporting seated putti emblematic of Summer and Winter, the pierced column neck surmounted by a bouquet of garden flowers, together with four figures emblematic of the Seasons, each seated by a shell-moulded sweetmeat basket (Winter's head restuck, minor chips and restoration, basket detached from stand) The stand 20 7/8 in. (53 cm.) high overall, the figures each approximately 7 ¾ in. (19.7 cm.) high
