Comprising: 1) Sgt. Fischbach's Legion of Honor, presented to him by the Emperor at the Battle of Wagram, Oct. 15, 1814, where the sergeant was wounded in the neck. Also included is an award document to Sgt. Fishbach as Chevalier of the Legion of Honor given in 1819 by King Louis XVIII. 2) His St. Helena medal with it's original award document. 3) A watercolor portrait of Fischbach, later in life, depicted in civilian wearing his medals. 4) A carved horn snuff box, the lid carved with the cross of the Legion of Honor, and with label (in English) attributing it to Louis Berthier, Napoleon's Chief-of-Staff. 5) A Russian officer's epaulet, possibly for the Primorsky Dragoon Regiment, a battlefield souvenir taken by the sergeant. 6) Sgt. Fischbach's non-commissioned officers booklet issued by the Garde Royale containing details of his service history, pension, designation of effects, etc. 7) Two five franc coins, one dated 1811 and the other 1812. 8) A copy of Sgt. Fischbach's marriage license to Albertine Lengendre. 9) Souvenirs de Voyage de Sainte-Helene by M. L'Abbe F. Coquereau, Paris 1841, inscribed by the author. 10) Pensees du Napoleon, Biblioteque Miniature de Napoleon. 11) Life of Napoleon, Sir Edward Creasy, three volumes, New York, 1891. 12) A souvenir canteen from Corsica, formed from a nut and carved with the Emperor's likeness on one side and a riband inscribed Ajaccio, on the reverse. 13) Various documents relating to Sgt. Fischbach's son, M. Legendre, who took his mother's maiden name as he disliked the German name of his father, as well as transcriptions of various French documents. 14) A French Model 1822 cavalry officer's saber and a French medical officer's sword, possibly belonging to M. Lengendre. 15) Also included is a hand-written letter of provenance dated 1913 from Mrs. G.T. Brown, nee Lengendre, Sgt. Fischbach's grand-daughter stating that these items were bequeathed to her from her father. Condition: Legion of Honor missing most of the enamel, front side of gold panel missing much of the rim.
