A group of six mourning rings and a pendant, comprising: a black and white enamel mourning ring the oval bezel with stylised urn with in the legend NOT LOST BUT GONE BEFORE the reverse engraved George Mercer Esq. ob: 12 June 1799 Aet.75 ; an oval mourning ring with domed locket design bezel enclosing plaited hair and applied monumental urn and plinth with the legend NOT LOST BUT GONE BEFORE with bead work surround, the reverse engraved M.J. Engleheart, Obt,25 Octr, 1794 Aet 28 in a case; an oval mourning ring with sepia miniature under crystal depicting doves and cherubs; the reverse engraved R.B. Ob 4 JUNE 1782 AE 21 Ms. , in a case; an oval ring with sepia miniature depicting the head of Hope, (later mounted on shank): two mourning rings; and a navette shaped pendant with sepia miniature depicting a sepulchral plinth with twin hearts beneath crowned motto Love and Contancy.
