A GROUP OF ADAMS IRONSTONE WARES TRANSFER-PRINTED WITH SCENES FROM THE WRITINGS OF SAMUEL DICKENS 20th century, brown printed marks. Each printed in black and enriched in colours with a named scene, the rim with a band of foliate scrolls, dolphins and urns on an ochre ground and within iron-red bands, comprising a breakfast cup with two vignettes from Oliver Twist named on the underside, a breakfast cup saucer with a scene from The Pickwick Papers , and an ashtray with a scene from Oliver Twist , 5.1/8in. (13cm.) diam.; together with a similar plate printed with an orange seller from the Cries of London series, the identical border within green lines, 8.1/8in. (25cm.) diam., and a Macintyre beaker printed and enriched in colours on one side with the same scene of London street sellers and on the other with an extensive landscape, 5in. (12.7cm.) high. (5)
