Wessling”; Wessling was a magician in the 19th century, constructing his own apparatus and automata. He was also a self-taught mechanic exhibiting the first electric arc lamp operating in the U.S.); ten early brass linking rings (7 ½” diameter); early sand frame; several hand painted metal and wood “die through hat” tricks in varying sizes with Roman or Greek painted motif on largest box (paint chipping throughout); hand painted metal funnel-type trick; metal lid to disappearing vase trick; a wooden spring hand puppet; and other early magic tricks (most incomplete).
