Third quarter 17th Century The case with engraved upper borders and D-ended glass side panels, the hinged base plate also engraved with leaves and mounted with two bells within brass straps, on six hairy paw feet, the dial engraved with foliate designs to its border and centre, the bezel with quarter hour and Arabic five minute indications, silvered I-XII chapter ring with inner 13-24 calibration, the centre with silvered alarm-setting disc, two gilt-metal hands, strike regulation by 15 and alarm release by 60, the short duration movement secured in the case with blued steel catches, with hexagonal plates joined by part-ringed tapering pillars secured with nuts to each end, chain and fusee for the going train and spring barrels for the hour and quarter strike trains, verge and steel balance escapement, with pierced and engraved cock and regulated by a steel lever with two pins, calibrated by a pointing finger, the countwheel calibrated 1-12 and mounted with a central steel rosette mount, with quarters calibration to the side, striking the hours and quarters via engraved brass zoomorphic hammers on bells to the underside and with alarm via plain steel hammer on the quarter bell, signed Johan Buschman/Junger , the back plate also stamped G and W 22 cm. wide
