A GEORGE III SILVER CAKE BASKET MARK OF WILLIAM PLUMMER, LONDON, 1769 Shaped oval with beaded spiral rat-tail flutes, sides pierced with scrollwork and quatrefoils, shell, scroll and gadroon border, openwork rococo feet and swing handle pierced with diaperwork and terminating in "S" scrolls, centre of basket engraved with large crest of a demi-lion rampant, holding in it's forepaws a halberd 14¾ in. (37.7 cm.) long 43 oz. (1333 gm.)
