A George III brass-mounted mahogany striking and musical eight day bracket clock Robert Jackson London. Circa 1780 The bell top case with urn finials and foliate trellis mount, gilt-brass caryatides trailing flowers to the front angles, brass handles above cherub and foliate cast side panels, brass-lined front door, with brass trellis moulding to the base and raised on bracket feet and on brass-bound later wall bracket, the 8 in. wide brass dial with foliate scroll gilt spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, silvered centre with concentric date ring and signed Robert Jackson/Old Round Court Strand/LONDON , flanked by subsidiary levers for chime/not chime and two tune music selection, silvered and painted rolling moon to the arch and blued steel hands, the triple fusee movement with seven ringed pillars, verge escapement, hour strike on bell and music on nine bells with sixteen hammers via 3 in. pinned barrel, playing full tune on the hour, trip repeat, the back plate engraved with foliate scrolls and chinoiserie buildings 33½ in. (85 cm.) high, over bracket
